Ooooh – the scariest one is the one that you can’t see but you know is right behind you about to attack you. I’ve never seen this animal – but many is the time I’ve been out diving and just had the feeling that something EXCEPTIONALLY SCARY was right behind me – just waiting to turn me into food. But, no matter how fast I’d turn around – it would always hide. (I’m not kidding – sometimes it really does feel that way.)
People! Nah, like Glo says, the scariest one is the one that’s after you! Even ones that people think of as terrifying like Sharks are still amazing creatures. How scary they are is simply a matter of context!
It depends on who you are! If you are the prey then even the thing with the smallest teeth is the scariest.
In terms of thinking about me in the water then there’ s a long list that I wouldn’t like to tangle with, the great white shark, sea snakes, most other sharks, box jellyfish….There’s even a giant clam that is capable of trapping the unwise diver!
