• Question: do you believe that marine animals will evolve in the future to be the dominant species??????

      It’s possible that it will happen, but it’s almost impossible to predict the course that evolution will take! In order for a species to become dominant, generally the current dominant species has to die out. This could happen to humans, maybe through an steroid strike or similar, but I’ve no idea what would take our place!

      To me, it’s not even clear that humans are the dominant species on the planet! Sure, we think we are – and we have, as a species done some amazing things – but then we’re biased! Take for example Ogze’s krill: although they’re tiny, their combined weight is much more than the combined weight of humans, so I’d say that they are equally as successful (is that the same as dominant? What do you think?) as humans

      Possibly, but we wouldn’t be around to see it as we’d have to die out first, like Dave said!
