Not always! Marine Science isn’t just Biology. Marine Science can be Physical or Chemical Oceanography (the study of tides and the physical properties that govern the marine world and the study of the chemical properties respectively) or it can be more technical like designing methods of renewable energy generation to be placed out at sea. Some people even do things like Marine Archaeology.

In short, you don’t have to be a biologist to have be a marine scientist at all!
