In terms of my work, the money would allow me to reach a broader audience of people, specifically – more people like YOU! 🙂 You would be able to see me working, and ask me questions about my work. At the same time, I’d get to teach you about the cool stuff I get to do. Win – win!

If I win, I am thinking to use the money to go to a scientific conference. There I will be able to present my results to other scientist and get their feed back on my work. This will help me plan my future work. I will also have the chance to listen to other scientists talk about their work.

I am also thinking to give some of the money to a campain called “Daddy send me to school.” I am from Turkey and unfortunately there are still a lot of girls who are not sent to school in my country. I mean not at all, therefore they can’t even read and write. £500 is a lot of money for Turkey and this can change the lives of a lot of little girls, who derserve at least as much as boys to go to school. This will not have an impact on my work per se but I believe it’s definetely a good cause.

      Hi Katie,

It wouldn’t help with my work, but it would help me to talk about and explain my work better, and to more people. I’m thinking of either building some equipment to demonstrate how ocean currents and weather systems work, or maybe make a video about it!

If I won, the money would help me with the bit of my job that involves going into schools to do activities. I would buy better materials and build equipment for a new, fun experiment involving mud (and a bit of maths, sorry).

Like Glo, the winnings would help me reach a wider audience. WHilst this would certainly include YOU GUYS, We’d be going on to make videos and radio programmes about the benefits of Marine Conservation and Marine Protected Areas (full of footage showing how many more fish there are in prtoected areas than outside) and then explain at a village meeting following them that establishing a small MPA locally would help them to catch more fish in areas outside the MPA because the Fish within the MPA are breeding and spreading otuside of it to other fishing areas!

Of course, you guys would be shown the videos too!
