• Question: this is going to sound a bit stupid, but whats the difference between plankton and krill?

      No it’s not stupid at all, yes krill is sometimes refered to as plankton. There are 2 types of plankton: phytoplankton (phyto from greek plant) and zooplankton (zoon=animal), The phytoplancton are very small and generally green and cannot be seen with the naked eye, you would need a microscope, there are loads of different species of phytoplankton. Zooplankton are also very small. Krill isnt that small though and in my opinion shouldnt be called plankton. They are crustaceans like shrimps..
