A whale shark! Beautiful, massive, huge fish! http://australianmuseum.net.au/Whale-Shark-Rhincodon-typus-Smith-1828 However, try as I may, I haven’t seen one in the wild yet! (This one was in an aquarium in Osaka, Japan.)

I’ve seen a whale once when I was in the US. I was on the shore though and it was quite far from the shore, I don’t know what kind it was, we only saw it squirting some water in the air but that was pretty amazing anyway:)

I haven’t seen anything really massive – probably pilot or killer whales. I once was the spout from a humpback (at least that’s what I was told it was!) whale breathing – but that probably doesn’t really count.

I’ve seen a Humpback Whale ‘breach’ (swim really fast to the surface of the water and then throw itself into the air before splashing back into the water, apparently in order to show off to other Whales…) But only from a long, long way away 🙁
