      I have absolutely no idea, and to be honest, I doubt anyone does! If wee believe that life started in the ocean, then what you’re asking is ‘how did life start?’ I don’t think we know, but I’d highly recommend the first chapter of Richard Dawkins’ ‘The Selfish Gene’ for a vey plausible suggestion!

      Yeah, I don’t think anyone knows, nor could they really, as it was very likely a single celled organism that has likely died out since and single cell organisms rarely leave any kind of casing or fossil, so it’ll remain a mystery!
