I’ve loved working at sea up in the Arctic! But then it’s also good to work on data in a nice, warm dry office at the university. Also, sitting on a comfy chair, with a coffee, reading about other people’s work (which is a big part of being a scientist) is pretty nice! 🙂

Oh – comfy chairs are important – very true. I spent the past year living on a cruise ship. I’ve got to say – of all the cosy study environments – that was probably one of the best. All of my meals were cooked by other people, my room was cleaned by other people, all of my bills were paid by other people, and I got to sit on the deck in a comfort chair and study. Yep – that was a sweet life! Having said that – I do adore studying in libraries. I feel like I’m getting smarter just by being IN a library – surrounded by all of those books!

Tasmania by far! Everything is easy there, people are happy, it’s organised, you are by the sea, and it is SUNNYY!!!!!

Madagascar, definitely. Sunny, hot, the sea literally on your doorstep. The only cons were that if you didn’t charge your laptop in the morning, you’d be in trouble for the 4 hours of the afternoon that there was no electricity (in the place I lived, not the whole country…)
