Then there’s the Blue Ringed Octopus but I think Glo can tell you a little more about that guy…
Depends. Blue-ringed octopus have what is considered one of the most potent neurotoxins on the planet; however, even deadlier is the toxin is produced by a little single-celled organism called Gambierdiscus toxicus. It’s a phytoplankton (chlorophyll containing plankton) that secretes maitotoxin. Just check out the structure of this toxin: It’s like a super-deadly caterpillar!
