I can’t think of many other jobs where you get paid to learn – and I really, really enjoy learning. If I couldn’t be a scientist? Hmm. I’d be a research librarian – helping other people with their research! 🙂
I never really ‘decided’ to be a scientist – I just kept studying science and then one day found that I was one!
If I wasn’t: well I would probably want a job where I could spend a lot of time outdoors… maybe an outdoor instructor of some kind. When I was a bit younger, I almost joined the army, though, so perhaps I’d be doing that if I wasn’t a scientist!
At school I wanted to be a biologist, I also thought about being an astronomer but I got scared cause I was really bad in physiscs. I thought about being an antropologist (the person who studies the origins of humanity), but these are all scinetists jobs. Having said that you don’t necessarily need to become a scientist after studying these subjects, you can study biology and become a teacher for instance, I thought about that too.
I enjoy doing this kind of thing, so I would consider being a teacher. I’d have liked to be a ballerina, but that would have had to happen a while ago now.
As a kid, I always wanted to know more about the sea and the things that lived in it and so becoming a marine scientist seemed the best way to do this.
If I couldn’t be a scientist, I think I’d probably discover some hitherto unknown talent at football and play for Liverpool…
